Our President, Jim Marshall, was born and raised in the Sandfly and Isle of Hope areas of Savannah, Ga and grew up in the Construction, Development, and Real Estate sectors in his family’s Real Estate and Construction businesses. You could say Construction and Real Estate are in his blood.

A published Nashville Recording artist and professional musician, Jim attended the College of Charleston in Charleston, SC and began his career in Publishing and Journalism while gigging throughout the Lowcountry with his various bands. After several years following his Artistic Dreams of Writing and Music, Jim decided to go the natural route and obtain his South Carolina Real Estate and Residential Homebuilders Licenses and jump full steam into his destined career path.

Jim began listing, selling, developing, renovating and constructing homes in the Johns Island and Charleston markets, which led to most of his main projects landing in the exclusive Kiawah Island and Seabrook Island Gated Communities along the barrier islands of Charleston. Sharpening his eye for detail and craftsmanship in these high end markets for the better part of 10 years, Jim yearned to return to his beloved hometown of Savannah, Ga to raise his children closer to his family. So in 2013, Jim returned to Savannah and immediately obtained his Georgia Real Estate License and joined forces with his father and brother in the Real Estate Development field. Aching to get back into the Construction side of things, Jim was quickly hired as a Senior Construction Project Manager for several of the most well-known and respected General Contractors in the area. In early 2022, with (3) young children to raise, Jim decided to put his industry experience, knowledge and keen eye for detail and craftsmanship to test and obtained his Georgia Residential-Light Commercial General Contractor License and opened the doors to J. Marshall Contracting, LLC.

Today, J. Marshall Contracting, LLC. has earned the distinction of a thriving business almost exclusively through word of mouth and client referrals based solely on a reputation of trust, dependability, affordability, professionalism, and craftsmanship.
